As a part of a new federal law, all New Jersey residents renewing or applying for a driver's license, non-driver ID card or permit at an MVC agency after May 2012 will be required to present the following:
Proof of Valid Social Security Number (Example: Social Security Card)

Two proofs of principal address (examples: Utility or Credit Card Bills)
These new federal requirments will replace the current 6 point ID Verification requirements. Fees will also change for the federally-compliant driver licenses and non-driver ID cards because these documents will be valid for 8 years instead of 4.
